About Us

Armstrong Flowers was founded by our parents, Herman and Helen Armstrong at the Armstrong homestead on East Cook Rd. in 1943.  Dad wanted to keep his new bride happy, so he built Mom a small greenhouse and she began growing plants like her parents and grandparents had before her.  That simple beginning grew into a multi-faceted floral, greenhouse, wedding and event business that our family owns and operates today.  All of The Armstrong daughters have worked in the shop over the years and love working with flowers and plants each and every day.   

The original shop consisted of a single greenhouse and office area surrounded by farm land and pastures.  Over the years, the shop has grown to accomodate our customers full service floral needs from birth to sympathy memorials, from first dates to weddings and anniversaries.  We truly appreciate talking with our customers who may be third generation customers. We enjoy hearing how "Mrs. A" made their parents wedding bouquets and how we made their own first prom corsages and are now creating their daughter's wedding flowers.

We also specialize in one-of-a-kind memorial designs incorporating our vast selection of memorial keepsakes including Lanterns, Windchimes, Angels, Music Boxes, Angels, Candles and Comfort Blankets.  We make every effort to have these special gifts on hand when you need them-even same day.
